| As the first
and only multi-professional in Romania dedicated exclusively to the Romanian
meetings industry, Romanian Convention Bureau gathers as members several
categories of public institutions and private companies active in planning
and managing congresses, conferences, seminars, specialized exhibitions,
national and international fairs, festivals, destination management,
business and incentive travel programs.
RCB companies and institutions
manage directly or provide specialized services for an annual average of 800
events, of which 100 are fairs and exhibitions and over 600 are congresses,
conferences, seminars, product launches and training sessions, gathering
about 1.200.000 - 1.500.000 participants per year. |

Romania is a
mid-size country of 238,391 sq.km., situated in Central Europe, at the
crossroads of trading routes connecting Western Europe to Eastern Europe and
Asia.
Geographically, Romania is made of hills, plateaus and plains concentrically
placed around the Carpathian Mountains. Its hydrographic potential is also
significant: Romania is located on the middle and lower Danube and has a
244km shoreline along the Black Sea. Romania's natural resources include
coal, oil, ferrous and nonferrous ores and forests, and impressive
landscapes in all the country regions.
Romania has a population of
about 23 million. Most of its citizens are ethnic Romanians (89,4 percent),
the difference being represented by ethnic minorities. Main cities are
Bucharest (capital) 2.300.000, Brasov- 353.000, Timisoara- 333.000, Iasi-
330.000, Cluj Napoca- 318.000 and Constanta- 316.000.
Romania's culture is part of
the European Latin culture. The official language is Romanian and is
originated from ancient Latin. English, French and German are widely spoken.
Neighbored by Slavic peoples and the Hungarians, the Romanians are the most
Eastern of Latin peoples. Romanians are connected to Eastern European
culture by the Eastern Orthodox faith. Minorities are primarily Protestant
and Roman Catholic as well as a small number of Moslems. |
