and state awards for Best Tourism Association twice since 1999, the Bureau's
reputation in the conventions industry is unrivalled.
Brisbane’s distinguished track record of

as the Commonwealth Games, World Masters Games, World Veterans Athletics
Championships and, most recently, the 2001 Goodwill Games. It is no wonder
that the Rotary International Congress has also chosen Brisbane for its
25,000 delegates in 2003.

unparalleled level of personalised service, from the early bidding stages
right through to ensuring your delegates have the best possible Brisbane
experience. Whether it is a large international congress, a national

Brisbane, with a population of 1.6 million
people, is Australia’s third largest city after Sydney and Melbourne. Ours
is a youthful city. The average age of Brisbane’s population is thirty-three
years and twenty-one percent of the total population is under the age of
fifteen.
The population is also culturally diverse. Currently over twenty-six percent
of Brisbane’s population was born overseas. In 1996 over fifteen percent of
the population spoke a language other than English at home with Cantonese,
Italian, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Greek, Spanish, German, Tagalog (Filipino),
Polish and Russian being some of the most commonly spoken languages. |
