Hospitality at major sporting events more and more attractive

Proske-ArenaPROSKE | group with Dr. Andreja Wieser as new “Head of Sports“ Hospitality events as a marketing tool for major sporting events become more attractive for companies.

Faced with the current global financial crisis, clients tend to focus even more on efficiency and service quality.

As an internationally operating specialist for event management and hospitality, PROSKE | group is shaping up to ship out for an even more successful year 2010 and beyond.

Since September this year, Dr. Andreja Wieser, a true expert of the sports industry, is on board as new “Head of Sports”, aiming to reach out for new heights in the global sports sector with PROSKE | group.

Major sporting events still attract the masses. The 12th IAAF World Championships in Athletics Berlin 2009™ attracted more than 400.000 enthusiastic visitors. This truly is evidence that even a global financial crisis does not cast a cloud over major sporting events.

According to Dr. Wieser, companies take advantage of the unbowed popularity aiming to benefit from the uplifting spirit of such events and invite their clients to be a part of unforgettable experiences at hospitality events.

As new „Head of Sports“ at the international successful event and hospitality organizer PROSKE | group, she is developing the sports department, always focusing on the aims and principals of sustainability.

The 39 year old native Austrian with Slovene roots has gained valuable experiences at various editions of the Olympic and Paralympic Games. During the Olympic Summer Games in Beijing 2008 she successfully managed the IOC President´s Guest and VIP Program.

A tighter budget does not conclude in lesser service

„For 2010, cut backs will have to be counted in for corporate or sponsors hospitality at sporting events,” estimates Dr. Andreja Wieser.

„Although I am sure that major sports events may continue counting on their unbowed popularity and remain an attractive platform for sponsors due to its high popularity“, expects Dr. Andreja Wieser.

Major sporting events in the upcoming year are the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver 2010, the FIFA World Cup 2010 in South Africa™, the first Summer Youth Olympic Games in Singapore and the IIHF Men´s World Ice Hockey Championships 2010.

In times of global financial crisis corporates and companies evaluate carefully before they invest either as a sponsor or as a host in major sporting events. Companies want to ensure that the high costs for large events turn out to be a secure investment. Therefore they need a reliable and competent partner.

“The customer expects a world class service and a tighter budget does not necessarily mean lesser service”, believes Dr. Andreja Wieser.

“Our credo is creativity as well as professionalism and we believe in state of the art service provision and that must be reflected in the customer´s satisfaction,” says Dr. Wieser.

For the hospitality expert, every new sporting event offers a new opportunity to furtherdevelop the high level of performance.

With over 20 years of professional experience in planning, developing and managing events with up to 30.000 attendees in 60 countries all over the world, PROSKE | group has proven to be a competent and experienced partner for global sponsors and corporates.

PROSKE | group has developed a strong position as an expert for major international sporting events and has created spectatular hospitality programs during the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 as well as the UEFA EURO 2008 in Austria & Switzerland.

The soft-drink giant Coca-Cola placed a major order with PROSKE | group for the activation of their International Hospitality Program during UEFA EURO 2008 with a total of over 14.000 tickets.

The expert created, developed and provided also programs for the Swiss Bank UBS, SwissCom and the Italian Television RAI at all eight sports venues during UEFA EURO 2008.

„Once in a lifetime“: Offer the customer a unique experience Hospitality at major sporting events has become inevitable. Sporting events have always been popular choices. State of the art hospitality programs are complex and consist of various components.

“Long-term preparation, sometimes over a period of years, is as important for a successful hospitality program as the planning and operation of the program where every little detail matters”, adds René Proske, Managing Director, PROSKE I group.

The agency is continuously working towards the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, future Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as UEFA EURO 2012 in Poland & Ukraine. The credo of the hospitality expert is to create a once in a lifetime experience for the customer.

“We spend much time with the customer, listen to their ideas, requests. We do not want to push on a concept to the customer,” explains Dr. Andreja Wieser. PROSKE | group consults the customer with country specific experiences and specific local habits or traditions.

“Every country has its specific security measures and as a hospitality expert, we advise the customers where it is safe for them to go for a walk or shopping or where the customer requires the full services of a local hostess and a guide,” explains Dr. Wieser, who has experienced various countries on several continents.

“As a full-service agency, it is our obligation to our customers to consult them on all aspects of the hospitality program and in economically challenging times the level of service provision becomes even more relevant,” says Dr. Wieser.
