The meetings industry is currently experiencing extraordinary times and the Convention Industry Council (CIC) is adapting to help meeting professionals attain their personal and professional goals, even in tough times.
In response to the overwhelming requests of potential Certified Meeting Professionals, CIC has extended the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) application deadline from August 14, 2009 to September 1, 2009.
"The CMP Board of Directors is committed to supporting the CMP community in as many ways as we can during these challenging times. We know that this is a time when education and certifications will help with job security and placement more than ever."
"The commitment of professional development expenditures, whether personally or by an employer now takes longer to justify," says Kimberly Miles, CMP, Senior Vice President, Industry Relations for American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA) and CMP Board Chair.
"We don't want anyone to miss out on the opportunity to sit for the exam in January."
In combination with the extension, CIC will continue to offer the payment plan for the CMP Examination to those candidates who qualify to sit for the Examination.

The January 9th exam registration deadline is October 22, 2009 and will open on October 1st.
