For the first time in the history of the UK’s most popular talent competition, the renowned live X-Factor auditions are set to take place at ACC Liverpool, home to BT Convention Centre and Echo Arena.
The first round of auditions took place in March 2011 at the iconic waterfront venue, with the latest round to be hosted on 13-14th July 2011.
With thousands set to attend, ACC Liverpool will be one of the first venues to welcome the new judging line up of Louis Walsh, Kelly Rowland (Destiny’s Child), Tulisa (N Dubz) & Gary Barlow (Take That).
The X-Factor team will take over the Echo Arena for the recording of the live auditions and the BT Convention Centre will be utilised for holding rooms, dressing rooms and behind the scenes areas.
ACC Liverpool has built a solid relationship with Talkback Thames, the production company for X-Factor, with this latest activity following the success of previous high profile events from the X-Factor family.
Echo Arena has played host to X-Factor Live for the last 3 years as well as welcoming X-Factor runner-up Rebecca Ferguson for her homecoming performance during the 2010 series.
Echo Arena’s adjoining venue BT Convention Centre meanwhile, was one of only 3 UK venues chosen to host the X-Factor final live links to the London studio in December last year.
Ian Congdon, Echo Arena Sales Manager, said, “We are expecting thousands of people through the doors who want to spot the next singing talent from the audience."
“The X-Factor team will be utilising all aspects of the venue to accommodate those taking part in the auditions and behind the scenes."
“This is a brilliant opportunity to showcase what Liverpool has to offer as a major broadcast event location and in particular to highlight how Echo Arena and BT Convention Centre can work together as one unique interlinked event space.”
