The Grimaldi Forum Monaco, 10 Years On

Grimaldi-Forum-10thThe Grimaldi Forum Monaco is stepping into the future as of now.

It has taken advantage of its 10th anniversary celebrations to launch a vast €1-million investment programme to fit the building out with the very best technical solutions in audiovisual equipment and signage.

This upgrade to some of the facilities demonstrates once again the ongoing determination of the Principality's congress centre to provide its clients with cutting-edge technology to help ensure the success of their events, particularly when they are using one of its three auditoriums.

The peak of high-performance video The Grimaldi Forum Monaco now offers wide-screen display and dynamic picture-in-picture video capability.

This is possible thanks to the acquisition of one of the most powerful and flexible video processors in the world, capable of mixing a large number of sources (IT, video, cameras etc) in up to 32 independent dynamic screens, creating all sorts of dynamic effects within giant screens.

This equipment is perfectly suited to very large-scale projection because it combines several video projectors, either on a single screen or on several separate screens. It is also one of the few processors capable of managing High Definition. It is intuitive to use and extremely fast and flexible.

Right at the cutting edge of technology, the new Vista Spyder system is ideal for:

  • Business presentations in the auditoriums
  • Public events requiring high-performance video
  • Congresses and corporate events

A new era in video projection The Grimaldi Forum Monaco has acquired two Roadster Christie HD 18 K video projectors. This model is one of the most powerful and high-performance presently available in European congress centres. Incorporating next-generation technology (3-chip DLP), it is specifically designed for HD management and provides 18,000 ANSI lumens of power across more than 90% of the picture.

These video projectors are perfectly suited for use on very large screens, projecting images with incredibly high contrast and definition. A reliable product of the brand's undeniable knowhow, they are the response of the Grimaldi Forum Monaco's audiovisual department to client demand for on-site provision of the most high-performance equipment ideally suited to big auditoriums.

Sounds… better than ever In ten years of use the 1900-seat Salle des Princes has acquired a reputation for its excellent acoustics. It is now being equipped with sound diffusion technology based on a curvilinear array.

This type of system is perfect for medium-sized rooms, giving optimum sound coverage worthy of the biggest concert halls and providing exactly the same sound quality to every seat in the auditorium, meaning that people in the 600-seat balcony hear exactly the same sound as those down in the front row, with the same sound level and the same presence.

The Milo system by Meyer Sound simply cannot be bettered in the current state of technology.

Dynamic signage In autumn 2010 (the call for tenders is out) the Grimaldi Forum Monaco is installing a system to improve circulation and signage in the building. The principle is simple: to provide dynamic visual information for visitors and congress participants.

The technical solution envisaged will essentially rely on some 60 strategically located latest-generation LCD screens.
