The Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre has been named Australasia’s Leading Meetings and Conference Centre for the sixth consecutive year in the 2011 World Travel Awards.
More than 200,000 travel professionals from around the world voted in this year’s awards, announced at a gala dinner in Bangkok last night (September 28).
The Centre was selected from six nominated finalists from around Australia and New Zealand in the Asia and Australasia categories.
The World Travel Award follows other prestigious accolades for the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre this year, including the Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) National Awards in April where it was named best Meeting Venue for 500 delegates or more.
The Centre also won MEA awards for its Banquet and Catering, In-House AV services and Corporate Social Responsibility.
