Disneyland® Paris Business Solutions has introduced a new teambuilding programme for groups.
The Ecolympiads are a “sustainable development championship” that challenges teams with an array of fun activities on the theme of the environment and sustainable development.
Designed as a morning or afternoon programme for groups of 10 to 200 attendees, The Ecolympiads take place in the rustic, wooded setting of the resort’s Davy Crockett Ranch.
Beneath a shady canopy of towering trees, teams compete in up to eight different competitions. Each activity is challenging but not intimidating, which means fun for participants of all ages and skill levels.
Attendees can test their dexterity by navigating an obstacle course on eco-friendly Segway transporters. They can also hop on stationary home-training mountain bikes for a not-too-extreme relay race.
Other activities engage the inner artist to create sculptures out of recycled materials and paintings using “paints” of red cabbage, lemon and other natural ingredients.
Participants can also put their five senses to work while discovering a host of flavours, sounds, sensations, fragrances and visual delights. These are just some of the experiences that make up The Ecolympiads, which conclude with an awards ceremony and prizes.
Following a podium ceremony, participants are presented with gifts (to be decided) according to the score they have achieved and to reward them for taking part in the team-building exercise.
As well as being an enjoyable, awareness-raising team-building exercise, this event can have an impact over a longer period: the company can, if it wishes, link it with a financial contribution to an environmental initiative (the sum being decided in advance of the event).
In this way the company can follow up the impact of this enjoyable event by telling its employees about the longer-term benefits of the initiative
“This new teambuilding programme was created with corporate groups in mind,” says Eloi Courcoux, director of Business Solutions.
“The environmental message is relevant to individuals and corporations. And we deliver that message in a memorable way and in an ideal setting. Most importantly, attendees have fun while they learn.”
The Ecolympiads are the latest addition to an extensive array of group activities available at Disneyland Resort Paris. Other experiences include adventure rallies, treasure hunts and an exciting zip-line adventure through the treetops of Davy Crockett Ranch.
Programmes are available for groups ranging in size from 10 to 1,000 participants. The Disney Business Solutions team can also organize group golf tournaments on the resort’s 27-hole golf course.
