With construction having just passed the halfway mark, more than $40 million of new business has been secured for the boutique development.
With 24 confirmed conventions fully booked for BCEC on Grey Street and a further 9 conventions choosing the new facilities for part of their conference program, interest has exceeded expectations.
Construction activity on all five levels of the project continues at pace. At the southern end of the site, the area closest to Rydges Hotel, construction work has been completed to Sky Level with the other sections of the building completed to Plaza Level.
Major milestones in coming weeks will be the commencement of the roof structure, completion of stairs and lift shafts to all areas, and structural steelwork and concrete slabs poured to Concord, Plaza and Sky Levels.
The three tower cranes will be removed as each section is completed in November and early January and the focus moves to internal fit out.
The two main convention levels of BCEC on Grey Street - Boulevard Level and Plaza Level - feature expansive Foyers able to accommodate catering needs and ideal for cocktail receptions, with direct servery and bar access. There is ample space for exhibition and trade displays.
