Former Edinburgh Fringe Festival Director, Paul Gudgin, will deliver two Festival and Public Event Master Classes in Melbourne on 22 and 23 September and Sydney on 27 and 28 September.
As a sought after international speaker and trainer, Gudgin will speak on his experience as a Director of the world’s largest arts festival, sharing his knowledge on coordinating exceptionally successful festivals and events.
The Master Class focuses on practical event management, providing participants with ideas, knowledge and skills required to create successful festivals and community events.
Targeted at graduates, young professionals trying to break into the events industry, and event organisers wanting to update their skill sets, Gudgin aims to inspire creativity and ideas.
Gudgin headed the Fringe Festival at a time when the event passed the million ticket sales benchmark on four occasions.
He has continued his involvement in the field since leaving the Fringe, acting as a consultant to a number of events in the UK, as well as serving as an Adjunct Professor in Event Management at Napier University, Edinburgh.
The workshop will cover topics including stakeholder management, event programming, sponsorship and fundraising, branding events, marketing, managing festival infrastructure and venues, working with the media, maximizing event impacts for communities and approaches to evaluation.
Places are limited, and enrolments are filling fast – there are less than two weeks to secure a place on the courses.
