Glasgow Taxis is the latest to be awarded one of the Scottish Exhibition + Conference Centre’s (SECC) coveted Champion awards in recognition of the vital service they deliver to SECC customers.
The “Champion Awards” are part of the SECC’s 25th anniversary celebrations awarded throughout 2010 to acknowledge the contributions of key people and organisations over the last 25 years that have played their part in the SECC’s success.
The award was received on behalf of Glasgow Taxis by the company’s Secretary Robert Dunabie outside the venue’s Clyde Auditorium – a regular base for its fleet of hackney taxis.
Presenting the award, Ben Goedegebuure, Director of Sales, SECC said; “We are delighted to present Glasgow Taxis with a Champion award."
"This award recognises the importance of the service that local transport providers play in the day to day business of the SECC. Taxis play a huge part in delivering a vital service to our customers – from overseas conference delegates coming to the venue for the first time to concert goers here for a memorable night out.
“The taxi drivers are tremendous ambassadors for the City and we continually receive feedback from our conference delegates which shows the affectionate enthusiasm they have for the SECC."
"This is especially rewarding as often they are the first point of contact for many business and leisure visitors to the SECC and the City in general. Glasgow Taxis are a worthy recipient of one of our awards and we look forward to continuing our excellent relationship with them”.
Receiving the award, Robert Dunabie commented; “I would like to thank Ben and all the staff at the SECC on behalf of the members and drivers of Glasgow Taxis Ltd for this prestigious award in recognition of the working partnership we have in providing their taxi service. We wish a further 25 years of success to the SECC.”
