After seven years of operation as Gary Grimmer & Company, GG&Co has adopted a new name “GainingEdge” to communicate more succinctly its value proposition to clients.
Gary Grimmer, GainingEdge’s CEO explained: “In an intensively competitive world, gaining an edge is essential to business success. This competitive edge comes in many forms - knowledge, innovation, strategy, foresight, networks and organisation."
"Gaining an edge is invariably what our clients want, and delivering strategic support in all of these areas is how we help our clients to accomplish their goals.”
Grimmer emphasized that the name change to GainingEdge is not simply a ‘rebranding’ effort: “It’s an acknowledgement of an even deeper focus on helping our clients to prevail in an increasingly competitive world.”
Today, GainingEdge comprises eight team members from four countries, and a business presence in Melbourne, Kuala Lumpur and Paris.
Six specialty units – GE Strategy; GE Business; GE Knowledge; GE Management, GE Communications and GE Research – now offer services ranging from destination management to convention centre feasibility studies, from sales and bidding support to education and training.
Just two months ago, Bruce Redor joined the company as Senior Associate – Europe, Middle East & Africa, and established the company’s Paris Office, the third one after Melbourne (Head Office) and Kuala Lumpur.
As ICCA – the International Congress & Convention Association – released its 2010 Statistics, GainingEdge rejoiced with Serbia Convention Bureau, its first CVB client.
Said Faye Langley, GainingEdge’s business development consultant: “Since the establishment of Serbia CVB, that there has been an almost 320% increase in the number of meetings held in Serbia between the 2007 and 2010 rankings. Serbia has improved its world ranking by over 20 places in three short years.”
Mike Williams, Senior Consultant, is currently Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau’s (MyCeb) lead consultant for the establishment of the convention bureau while Jane Vong Holmes helms the management and operations of BestCities Global Alliance with London-based Jane Cunningham giving the alliance a sharp business development focus.
The team is supported by Joyce Joeman and Santha Florence, both of whom are Malaysia-based with the former having convention centre sales expertise and the latter with media experience.
In conjunction with the name change, a new website www.gainingedge.com has been launched.
