Brazil is increasingly becoming an attractive destination for both meeting and incentive travel buyers.
The Portugal based DMC events by tlc opened its Brazilian operation in April and interest from across the industry has been “above expectations”, according to managing director for Brazil, Miguel Assis.
“In the last two months we’ve confirmed four events for this year and an incentive for 2012. And we’ve already operated a pharmaceutical meeting in Sao Paulo,” he said.
“The interesting thing is that the UK is leading the way with 42.8 per cent of the enquiries, and the US with 35.7 per cent. The local market is also very buoyant”
As a result events by tlc in Brazil has now appointed Brazilian, Jose Armando, as Operations Manager to oversee the planning and delivery of client programmes.
In addition Jose will also develop the Procuring Better Business Partner Programme for their suppliers to ensure the international standards of corporate compliance, required by the international buyer, are in place to give that peace of mind.
Jose has a strong background in operations having handled Brazilian groups in over 40 countries as well as numerous inbound international groups throughout Brazil.
“We have a really nice balance between international and local talents,” added Assis, “important when delivering programmes of a consistent standard in both Portugal and Brazil.
