The effort of ega professional congress organisers to create always more eco sustainable events goes on.
The Italian PCO has recently obtained the UNI EN ISO 14001 certificate.
This means that the company has been managing its business in order to keep the impact of its activities on the environment under control.
ega professional congress organisers decided to subscribe the UNI EN ISO 14001 regulation.
This regulation implies the creation of a system of environmental management that bases its success on a PLANNING > ACCOMPLISHING > CONROLLING > TESTING procedure.
The method guarantees, for those ones who apply it, a continuous improvement of the environmental-friendly activities, that are regularly checked by a certified Organism (CERTIQUALITY for ega).
In concrete terms, some of ega’s activities planned, managed and verified in accordance to the UNI EN ISO 14001 regulation are:
- when possible, to get rid of the toxic substances harmful for the ozone (for ex. the R22 in the air-conditioner);
- to increase the number of suppliers with certificates that guarantee the environmental-friendly requirements;
- to separate the collection of rubbish in the office and ensure a proper removal of dangerous garbage;
- to sensitize ega’s staff awareness on a responsible use of resources (electricity, heating, paper);
- to increase the number of eco-sustainable products/services;
- to communicate to stakeholders ega’s commitment in protecting the environment.
The first two events that ega organised and has been organising in respect of the rules of UNI EN ISO 14001 are:
the IFA - International Fiscal Association Congress Rome 2010 and the JOSP Festival 2011, this second one promoted by the “Opera Romana Pellegrinaggi”, that will take place in Rome in June 2nd-5th, 2011.
