Cvent, "the world’s largest provider of online event management, meeting site selection and web survey solutions", launched a Facebook photo contest offering event planners, attendees and venues the opportunity to submit a photo of the best event they’ve ever planned or attended for the chance to win up to $10,000.
Open for submissions from July 7 through August 8, Cvent’s “The $10,000 Great Event Photo Contest” invites participants to submit a photo of their favorite event, along with a brief description of what made the event extraordinary, to earn votes from the public and ultimately win over a Cvent panel of judges.
“We’re looking for the best that the events industry has to offer—whether that be amazing food, a creative display, cool décor, unique audio/visual effects or a fabulous venue setting,” said Eric Eden, Vice President of Marketing at Cvent.
“Through this contest, we’re not only shining a spotlight on the unmatched creativity of the events industry and the venues that help bring great events to life, but also building a community on Facebook that event and hospitality industry professionals can look to for inspiration and to share ideas.”
Starting on August 9, 2011, visitors to the Cvent Facebook page will be able to vote once per day on their favorite photo, and the 25 photos with the greatest number of fan votes by August 22 will be named semi-finalists.
From these semi-finalists, a panel of Cvent judges will select ten runners-up to receive a cash prize of $1,000 each, and one Grand Prize Winner who will be awarded a $10,000 cash prize.
What’s more, the venue that hosted the Grand Prize-winning event will receive $8,000 worth of complimentary advertising in Cvent’s e-mail newsletter and also on the Cvent Supplier Network and/or Cvent Destination Guide.
