Congrex Launches Mobile App To Enhance EAACI Annual Conference

EAACI-AppCongrex has introduced an iPhone App to ensure the success of the upcoming EAACI annual conference in London this week.

European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI), the association of clinicians, researchers and allied health professionals dedicated to improving the health of people affected by allergic diseases, will be the first Congrex client to experience this new addition to its conference portfolio.

The EAACI 2010 App is available on Apple’s App store and is specially created for the 29th European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Congress, which is held in London 5-9 June.

The App will act as a networking and navigating tool, helping the 8,000 delegates make the most of the event, but will also provide EAACI with insightful data to help shape future Congresses.

Once downloaded, participants can navigate their way through the Congress using an interactive map, view event details and times, receive reminders of key events, and interact with speakers by sending instant messages - the application functions as a pop-up social network for niche audiences to communicate with each other.

Participants can also create their own digital profiles on the App, promoting themselves to other delegates and vendors. Other useful benefits include hotel and travel information – offering participants a seamless Congress experience.

Plus, with statistical usage data, and user generated content, EAACI can see exactly what’s popular at the Congress and what’s not, so it is extremely valuable when considering future events.

Dr Layth Bunni, CEO Congrex said; “We are excited to be taking this digital step forward, and believe mobile Apps will offer a truly enhanced conference experience for our clients.” EAACI President Prof. Jan Lötvall is also pleased.

”EAACI is proud to be the first organisation to move into the future by providing the latest state of the art technology for its congress participants. Using mobile IT-technology for providing programs and access to resources is not only easier for the participants, but also good for the planet, as less paper is used, printed and distributed.”
