The Manager of the Cape Town and Western Cape Convention Bureau, Amanda Kotze-Nhlapo, served on the first ever Business Tourism Panel of Experts at this year’s Meetings Africa.

Other panel members included Dirk Elzinga, former managing director of the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC), Cape Town-based sustainability fundi, Grace Stead and international experts like Enrico Zuffi, Director of EZ Associates, and Liz Jackson, presidents of Liz Jackson Consulting Inc.
The panellists, leaders in amongst others Association Leadership, Media for the Congress Industry and Education, availed themselves and their expertise to buyers and exhibitors at Meetings Africa.
“SA Tourism should be applauded for this innovative initiative. It was a privilege for us and a big feather in Cape Town Routes Unlimited’s (CTRU) cap to be part of this panel of industry experts. It stresses the importance of destination marketing expertise through a Convention Bureau,” observes Calvyn Gilfellan, CEO of CTRU, the official destination marketing organisation for Cape Town and the Western Cape.
The Cape Town & Western Cape Convention Bureau’s attendance at Meetings Africa yielded Association leads valued at R261 million and Incentive and Corporate leads totalling R3.3 million.
