Stefan Lohnert from Messe Stuttgart was elected Chairman of the Committee during the 2011 ICCA Congress in Leipzig.
He succeeds Claus Bühnert from the Thieme Publishing Group.
In his capacity as Chairman of the German Committee, Stefan Lohnert heads one of the largest national groups in the ICCA International Congress & Convention Association.
“Germany is one of the world’s most popular locations for congresses”, says Lohnert.
“In view of this fact, I am looking forward to my role as Chairman and the associated challenge.”
The ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association) is the worldwide umbrella organisation of the congress industry. It combines more than 950 congress centres, event organisers and service providers from 87 countries.
The national committees are made up of the leading representatives of the individual national congress and convention industries.
