Reed Travel Exhibitions has appointed Sally de Swart as the Acting Event Director of the Asia-Pacific Incentives & Meetings Expo (AIME) effective 5 July 2010, whilst Event Director, Rosemarie Sama, is on maternity leave.
Established for 18 years, AIME is the Asia-Pacific's pre-eminent meeting, conference and events forum, and the must-attend event in the industry's calendar.
Held annually at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, the next AIME event will take place on 15 and 16 February 2011.
Craig Moyes, Group Exhibition Director of Reed Travel Exhibitions, says that Sally has been appointed for her experience and in-depth knowledge of the business events industry.
"An integral member of the exhibition industry, Sally's impressive career spans over 12 years, five of which were in Australia working for an event organiser and a speaker bureau in Sydney," said Craig.
"For the last eight years, Sally has played a significant role at Reed Exhibitions in the UK and Clarion Events organising exhibitions and conferences for the defence industry.
"Sally will continue AIME's ongoing success and we are delighted to welcome her to the AIME team," Craig added
Sally de Swart, AIME's new Acting Event Director, says she is looking forward to moving to Australia to commence her new role.
"I'm looking forward to working on AIME, an event that is so well regarded and the highlight of the Asia-Pacific meetings industry calendar. AIME provides strong opportunities for exhibitors to source new business with face to face time which is such a limited commodity these days," says Sally.
"I am excited by the challenge to become immersed in the industry and work with the Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau to continue to build on the success of AIME 2010."
