Gary Grimmer & Company (GGCO) CEO Gary Grimmer announced that Bruce Redor has joined the company as Senior Associate – Europe, Middle East & Africa – with effect from 1 March 2011.
Based in Paris, Bruce Redor has 25 years of experience in a variety of sectors within the hospitality and services industries.
Bruce is the former Chief Executive at the Lyon Convention Bureau (France), where he was instrumental in turning the city into one of Europe’s leading business-travel and leisure destinations.
He most recently developed an independent consulting and executive search practice and has worked with key players in the travel industry including Expedia, Inc. and Lufthansa Airplus, GmbH.
Before joining the Lyon bureau, Bruce set up and managed Disneyland Paris Business Solutions which focused on meetings and incentives.
His prior experience includes work with CEGOS Consulting Group in Paris, leading projects in strategic planning, marketing and organizational development for multi-national corporations. Bruce holds a Master’s Degree from the University of California – Berkeley.
Redor said that he was attracted to Gary Grimmer & Company because part of the organisation’s goal is to help to build the business events industry in the developing world, while also supporting clients in parts of Europe and the Middle East where the industry is already well established.
“Our company has a current project in Serbia, helping to develop their bureau in Belgrade.” Redor said.
“We also did the feasibility study on the convention centre development that has just been announced in Oman. We recently developed a national convention and event strategy for South Africa. So, we have a track record in this part of the world, but, we want to build on that – we want to make a bigger difference.”
Grimmer said that the company is pursuing a growth strategy and hopes to soon establish additional offices in North and South America to complement those it already has operating in Asia (Kuala Lumpur), Australia (Melbourne) and now Europe (Paris.)
“We are very excited to have someone of Bruce’s calibre to head up our company operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa,” Grimmer said.
“While we have done previous work in all those places, we feel that we can make a larger contribution in those parts of the world. Having this new office is a big step for us in terms of further developing our global reach.”
Gary Grimmer & Company is a specialist consulting firm focused on the world’s business events industry.
Recent projects include helping to establish convention bureaus in Serbia, Macau and Malaysia, as well as strategic consultation to South African Tourism and Tourism Vancouver.
