The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) has appointed Mr Alan Pryor as Deputy General Manager.
Alan will be responsible for the Centre’s day-to-day operations including management of the audio-visual and technical services, and catering, event co-ordination and exhibition services as well as international, regional and local promotional activities.
Prior to joining the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Alan was the lead consultant of the Architectural Department of the Municipality of Durban City on its Priority Zone development which includes the Durban International Convention Centre, as well as consulting on several conference facility projects namely, Durban’s Olive Conference Centre and Ballito Conference and Convention Centre, and the Pietermaritzburg Royal Agricultural Showground Conference Centre.
A respected industry professional, Alan started in the hospitality industry in London, England, in 1984; including a two-year stint at the Kensington Exhibition Centre, before moving to Durban’s The Royal Hotel.
In January 1997, he joined the pre-opening team of the city’s International Convention Centre as Operations Director, a post he held for 10½ years before an a appointment as the Operations and Business Consultant for the Polokwane International Convention Centre, also in Durban, and focusing his attention on the consulting business.
