Businessman and star of The Apprentice Lord Alan Sugar (pictured left) has been announced as one of the exciting keynote speakers addressing the British Insurance Brokers’ Association conference and exhibition (BIBA 2011) when it returns to Manchester Central from the 11 – 12 May 2011.
The association’s annual conference is the largest insurance event in the country and 2011’s conference and exhibition, which will focus on the subject of ‘opportunities in adversity’, is expected to attract more than 3,000 delegates from across the UK to Manchester.
In addition to Lord Sugar, BIBA delegates will also be addressed by Aon Corporation chief executive Greg Case, and the inspirational Amazon explorer Ed Stafford (pictured right).
Over a period of 859 days Ed completed an astounding 6,000 mile journey down the entire length of the perilous Amazon river, an epic achievement that many said was impossible. His adventures have won the admiration of many people across the world including famed explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
BIBA’s Chief Executive, Eric Galbraith, said, “It is a great pleasure to be coming back to Manchester as it is undoubtedly one of the most popular venues for our annual conference. In previous years, exhibitors and delegates have told us that Manchester Central’s great event facilities, lively atmosphere and wide range of hotels close by make it a superb venue for our event – and we are confident that 2011 will be no exception.”
Manchester Central will be welcoming BIBA back to the venue with a completely new look having completed a £30 million redevelopment, that includes a new and extended main foyer, since the association’s last visit in 2009.
Paula Lorimer, Manchester Central’s Sales Director, said; “Manchester Central has undergone some big changes since 2009 and we hope that the organisers, exhibitors and delegates will enjoy the benefits of the added cohesion and flexibility of our facilities.”
