The winner will be announced on Saturday 3rd September at the Closing Ceremony  of the One Young World Summit in Zurich.

This year, over 1,200 young leaders under the age of 30 are attending the summit, representing 170 countries, meeting to discuss some of the big challenges facing mankind and resolving on their actions to address these .

David Jones, co-founder One Young World and HAVAS Global CEO said: "The fact that these bids are so strong is testament to the growing profile of One Young World and its unique status becoming the foremost global forum for young future leaders."

Kate Robertson, One Young World co-founder and UK Group Chairman of Euro RSCG, commented: “The bids from both Pittsburgh and Johannesburg were exceptional. They showed an unhesitating commitment to the ethos of One Young World in championing young people and the vision to create a formidable event in 2012.”

“We’re delighted to be short-listed, but it would be wonderful for Joburg to secure this event,” says Johannesburg Tourism Company (JTC) CEO, Lindiwe Kwele. “Please support our bid by voting for Joburg!”  To vote for Joburg please go to http://www.facebook.com/oneyoungworldJHB
