Co-organised by Montgomery Worldwide and Pico Events of Sri Lanka (parrt of Pico Global Services), Hotel, Hospitality & Food Sri Lanka (HHF Sri Lanka 2011) will take place in Colombo 27-29 October 2011 to serve the expansion and modernisation of the hotel and hospitality sector now being experienced there.
Hotels, hospitality and tourism are key components of Sri Lanka’s fast growing economy.
This growth continues apace since the civil insurgency terminated almost two years ago.
While GNP is exceeding 8% pa, tourist arrivals are now running at about 50% higher over the previous twelve months, boosting demand for more and enhanced vacation accommodation, diversified tourism choices and improved service.
Recently nominated as the top destination for travellers by ‘The New York Times’, Sri Lanka is the industry’s current hot-spot.
HHF Sri Lanka will focus on the need to provide more hotel capacity -the government aspires to a target of 36,000 new hotel rooms by 2016 to welcome 2.5 million guests- and much of the development is envisaged for newly released real estate in the North and East of the country.
As a B2B exhibition, the event will showcase specialist accommodation supplies including bedroom and bathroom fit-out products, specialist catering, kitchen, bakery and foodservice equipment, products for restaurants, bars and cafes, spa and fitness, training, hr and professional services, and the full range of specialist services and products, including food and beverage currently needed by the industry.
Suppliers and professional visitors (including hotel, hospitality and tourism CEOs, investors and line managers such as executive chefs to architects, trainers and financial controllers) will recognise that this event is to serve the South Asia region, including India, the Maldives and Bangladesh.
Moreover, it will showcase products to supply this broad international market. Colombo, as the host city, provides an ideal venue and business environment, especially at this time.
