The International Congress on Ultrasonics is held in Gdansk from 5-8 of September 2011.
The conference is organized by the University of Gdansk.
The International Congresses on Ultrasonics are launched as a global conference format to overcome the fragmentation of the scientific and engineering community working in the general field of ultrasonics.
It is expected that the ICU will provide an excellent platform for the exchange between scientists from industry, academia, government and suppliers of ultrasound equipment.
The International Congress on Ultrasonics 2011 is the third one (after Viena 2007, Austria and Santiago 2009, Chile) over the world meeting of ultrasonics community continuing a long tradition of Ultrasonics International conferences (organized every second year since 1963) as well as World Congresses on Ultrasonics (organized every second year since 1995).
The last 6 year experience of foundation of ICU congresses has shown a real progress in global integration process of the ultrasonics community and provided a platform for the professional knowledge exchange among scientists and engineers from academic and industrial centers as well as from other institutions and places of ultrasonics studies and applications.
Gdansk Convention Bureau (GCB) supports the organization of the ICU.
Gdansk Convention Bureau provides promotional materials about Gdansk and the Pomeranian Region. The project 'Volunteers for Gdansk' is involving people to welcome foreign guests arriving for the conference and coordinates all activities at the airport.
During the conference the Tourist Information Point will be available for participants in the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics.
