Dermatology care is a critical component of the health care system, and dermatology nurses must stay up to date with the latest research and practice trends to meet the complex needs of their patients.
The Dermatology Nursing Institute (DNI), in association with the award-winning journal, Dermatology Nursing®, will help meet those specialized needs by hosting the Dermatology Nursing Institute Annual Congress, October 6-8, 2010, at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, NV.
The Congress is designed for practitioners in every clinical setting and at every level, including registered nurses, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, physician assistants, managers and educators.
Attendees will benefit from a packed education program in the city that never sleeps. Education sessions will be taught by dynamic speakers on such diverse topics as topical therapy, acne, pediatric dermatology, diabetes, wound care, patch testing, skin cancer and ulcers.
In addition to education sessions, attendees will earn continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hours, network with colleagues, view poster presentations and learn about the latest skin care products and equipment in the exhibit hall.
New this year is the Dermatology Essentials Course, which will close the Congress on Friday, October 8.
The course, free for all full Congress registrants, is ideal for practitioners at all levels of practice. Nationally recognized experts Noreen Heer Nicol, MS, RN, FNP, Marcia J. Hill, MSN, RN, and Edna Atwater, BSN, RN, will present sessions on the fundamentals of dermatology, including anatomy and physiology, immunology and skin disorders.
"We know everyone is watching what they spend these days. With an outstanding program in a fabulous location, attendees will realize a high return on a low-cost investment at this year's Congress," said Nicol, DNI Congress Chairperson.
Those interested in attending will receive a discount of up to $110 if they register by September 1, 2010, and subscribe to Dermatology Nursing journal. Complete information and registration details are available at www.dermatologynursing.net.
