Entries to the Australian Event Awards 2011 close on 26 July, with winners to be announced at a glittering celebratory gala night on 6 October.
Nominated events, product or service achievements must have taken place between 1 July 2010 – 30 June 2011 to be eligible for an award.
“With a simplified entry form and an entirely on-line process, it is possible to get a great entry done and submitted pretty quickly,” said Ian Steigrad, Director of the Awards.
“There’s no need for fancy graphic designers or professional writers – as long as you can be clear and concise, entering is easy. If you have some excellent photos or a great video then you’re well on your way to shining.”
This year has seen enthusiasm for the Australian Event Awards across the industry with support from a range of industry bodies and associations such as the PCO Association, the EEAA, PRIA, Sustainable Event Alliance, Sponsorship Australasia, the Australian Centre for Event Management and Australian International Sporting Events Secretariat.
“With this level of support, our industry Night of Nights is set to be a who’s-who of the Australian events industry,” said Steigrad.
“It’s a great opportunity for 25 winners to show off their achievements to sponsors, government, media and of course the best of Australia’s event professionals.”
There are categories for any type of event or achievement: Best Exhibition, supported by the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia, recognises exhibitions that excelled in delivering outstanding results to exhibitors, attendees and other stakeholders.
Best Achievement in Marketing, Communication or Sponsorship highlights the vital role these elements play in any event and rewards particularly pioneering campaigns or partnerships, and Best Tourism Event recognises the integral role that events play in the development of travel and visitation around our huge country.
Individuals are not forgotten, with the headline categories Event Manager of the Year, the Entertainer of the Year (which is also open to groups), and Young Achiever of the Year which celebrates the contribution of those under 30 years of age to the events industry.
Entries are judged by an independent judging panel according to strict criteria which can be found at www.eventawards.com.au. The judging panel represents all sectors of the industry and provides valuable feedback to every entry.
The 2011 Australian Event Awards is the national awards program to reward innovation, recognise excellence and unite the Australian Events Industry. Entries are open to any event staged between July 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011.
