INCON has unveiled findings of its third annual survey of the global association conference market.
Presented yesterday by INCON Co Chairs Inge Hanser and Roslyn McLeod at the IMEX trade expo in Frankfurt, the survey paints a positive picture for 2011/12 with 62% of respondents reporting improved business levels, 71% anticipating increased staffing levels and 50% confirming growth in event attendance.
‘’The most resounding feedback is that business levels are back and the tentative green shoots of 2010 have grown stronger and appear to be back for good’’ commented Inge Hanser at the publication of the survey.
Fellow Co Chair Roslyn McLeod added ‘’This improvement in business levels is matched by an increase in the cost base particularly for housing and venue hire, two key elements in the overall cost of conference delivery’’.
IT/Technology was identified as the number one trend impacting the association sector by 50% of INCON Partner respondents.
Facebook and LinkedIn are the most frequently used social media while 75% of respondents are using or intend to use Mobile Application Technology for conference projects. With an ever increasing focus on sustainability, Green Meetings continue to be an important trend while Perception of Value remains very firmly on the agenda for 2011/12.
This research initiative contains the statistical analysis of 24 completed responses received in March 2011 from survey recipients who included directors and senior executives from 9 INCON Partner companies.
