CMP Exam Offered At EMEC 2012

CMPMeeting Professionals International (MPI) is offering an additional opportunity for attendees at the European Meetings & Events Conference (EMEC) – eligible attendees may sit for the Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) exam.

The exam is scheduled on Saturday, 28 January in Budapest, Hungary, prior to EMEC (29 – 31 January 2012).

The CMP is an internationally recognized certification program offered through the Convention Industry Council (CIC).

For professionals who are invested in continuing development, the CMP designation demonstrates commitment to the standards of the industry.

“MPI is excited that CIC is extending the application for the CMP examination at the EMEC in Budapest to 30 November,” said Diana Rogers, MPI director of professional development.

“We would love to host as many qualified EMEA candidates as possible. Meeting professionals in the region have the opportunity to join the elite CMP community, and we hope they will take advantage of the extended deadline.”

The test will be the last chance for European professionals to take the paper and pencil version of the exam that is based on the previous CIC Blueprint. CIC recently updated their body of knowledge, and future CMP exams based on the new International Standards are administered via computer.

For professionals who have been preparing for the CMP exam based on the previous Blueprint, this test coordinates with that content.

It is essential that interested candidates apply with CIC by 30 November for approval. The next step, which is registration to take the test at EMEC, must be submitted to CIC by 15 December here.

MPI is offering an intensive prep course in Budapest on Friday, 27 January from 10.00 to 17.00 for an additional fee.

EMEC is the premiere professional development event for European professionals, delivering in concept, research-based content and unique meeting design. Registration for EMEC is now open, with early rates of €599 for members and €899 for non-members available until 6 January 2012.
