On 10 and 11 August, event organisers will gather for the special events tradeshow of the year – Sydney’s Event Showcase: RSVP Sydney 2011 at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Tickets to a unique selection of Event Master Class Sessions are available for all registered visitors to the show.
This exclusive series of educational seminars, panel discussions and case studies will provide visitors with valuable insights into the world of events.
A line-up of event experts are confirmed to talk about a variety of vital event topics, helping visitors event-related skills and providing valuable industry insights.
Darren Waide, one of the Directors at Fourth Wall Events, will be presenting Breaking Your Creative Barriers, an interactive session to develop people’s creativity.
“My aim is to give the audience an essential injection of inspiration and motivation, so they can to return to their desks with a fresh approach. August is the perfect time of year to spark interest in innovative and imaginative thinking which can be carried into the development of the audience’s own events."
"It is important for our industry to be inventive, cutting edge and daring, and sometimes say ‘yes, we can achieve this in a different way’”, said Waide.
A popular topic in this year’s program is O its Harpo! Representatives from Cambridge Events, Tourism NSW and Tourism Australia will reflect on the PR stunt around the visit of American TV celebrity Oprah Winfrey last December, the delivery of the welcome party, working with a multitude of international stakeholders and the most tortuous task of all – putting the O on the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Rodney Cambridge, Director of Cambridge Events, is eager to share his experience with industry peers and corporate event organisers.
“The Event Master Classes present a fantastic opportunity to do live case studies such as ours. This way, we can really get across the processes that are involved, the obstacles that one needs to overcome and how we manage to put all the pieces together in the end to deliver a successful event; a great way for event planners that are experienced or new to the trade to live through the course that took months in just 45 minutes,” said Mr Cambridge.
Over the two days, Event Master Class topics will range from how to maximise event and marketing ROI, deal with VIP clients, the success story of an Australian woman in the industry, the latest trends and technologies and how to apply them to special events.
In her session on driving return on investment from event marketing, Managing Director of Zadro Communications Felicity Zadro explains that the term ROI should be reversed to IOR, meaning investment on return.
“What you put in you’ll see coming out, whether it happens immediately or in the far future. The same goes for continuing education – invest time in learning and your skills and knowledge will grow,” said Ms Zadro.
Registration for Sydney’s Event Showcase and tickets for the Event Master Class are available at www.sydney.rsvpevent.com.au/event_master_class. An Early-Bird Special (buy two tickets for $32 and receive $10 discount for the third) is on offer for booking until the end of July.
