In October, Leipzig, Germany will be the hotspot for the international meetings industry when the 50th ICCA Congress will take place in the Congress Center Leipzig (CCL) from 22nd to 26th October 2011.
About 1,200 participants are expected to visit the trade’s most important event.
Every year, the ICCA Congress gathers event experts from all continents. The ICCA unites more than 900 congress centres, event organisers and service providers committed to top-notch–quality from 86 countries.
The programme of the convention trade’s world conference covers a broad range of subjects. Over 40 sessions especially developed for CEOs and Senior Directors will be held on three conference days.
The primary focus lies with the transfer of knowledge from more than 100 international speakers from the Asia-Pacific-region, America, Africa, Near East and Europe.
Not only ICCA members, but also experts from other economic areas as well as researchers and scientists will talk about subjects such as, amongst others, “The pharmaceutical industry – trends, challenges, opportunities”, “IT/telecommunication/high-tech industry – How events for this growth market develop” and “A look at the advertising/marketing industry”.

According to the current ICCA ranking, Leipzig is among the top 100 locations worldwide and holds rank 53 within Europe. Besides a perfect organisation, Leipzig Trade Fair also wants to set a course for the contents by implementing sustainable concepts, the spokesperson continues.
According to him the transport between the hotels and the Congress Center is for the first time in the ICCA’s history organised with means of public transport, a trainee project of Leipzig Trade Fair and Leipzig’s public transportation services.
