The Natural History Museum, one of the leading unique venues in London, is celebrating after being awarded silver at this month’s Visit London awards for the Business Venue of the Year – one of the most highly contested categories.
The prestigious Visit London awards celebrate the richness and diversity of London, recognising and rewarding businesses that deliver London's world class tourism offering and make the city such an outstanding destination.
The Natural History Museum, which was awarded silver after a record number of applications, was praised for its innovation in meetings, conferences and events as well as its continuous development of its offering.
In the last year alone the Museum has opened two new events spaces – the Tree gallery and the £78million Darwin Centre, as well as investing in upgrading its current facilities.
Zoë Watts, Head of Events & Catering at the Natural History Museum comments: “We are thrilled to have been awarded silver by Visit London and to be recognised alongside some major business venues in the capital. The award is testament to our specialist conference and events team, as well as our suppliers and partners, who deliver outstanding service and commitment to ensuring that we uphold our reputation for hosting cutting edge events”.
Previously known for its bronze cast Diplodocus in Central Hall, the Museum is now tinged with silver, just in time for the festive season!
The awards ceremony took place on 5 November at Westfield London. In the highly competitive category ExCel London was awarded gold with the Cavendish Conference Venues receiving bronze.
The Natural History Museum was also awarded gold for Marketing/PR Campaign of the Year for the Darwin exhibition and Best London for Free Experience,
