Two key events in the meetings industry will be held in Nantes this year.
The first good news for the International Convention Centre and the city of Nantes is that ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association) has chosen France and the Atlantic metropolitan destination to organise its
international workshop from 2 to 4 April 2009.
The decision enhances the international dimension of Nantes in the MICE market. In 2007, Nantes was nominated for the first time among the cities hosting the largest number of international meetings.
The event was previously held in such cities as Dubaï, Glasgow and Madrid. ICCA, the main international association of specialists in the meetings industry, was founded in 1963 and boasts more than 600 members in 80 countries, representing all the various sectors of the industry.
Another major event featured this year will be the 2nd Summer School on Event Management organised by ANAé (an association of event management and communication agencies), planned in Nantes from 9 to 11 July. With 70 members, ANAé has imposed itself as the leading actor for the main agencies in the field of event management and communication.
Some 300 delegates (from agencies, consultancies including ANAé members, professional media and organisations…) are expected to attend the Nantes event, as a result of the partnership established between the Nantes International Convention Centre, Nantes Culture Patrimoine and Cap Image agency.
The two events which will be organised at the Nantes International Convention Centre represent a great opportunity to promote the major attractions in Nantes, the Château des Ducs de Bretagne (Castle of the Dukes of Brittany) and the extraordinary « Isle of Nantes Machines ».
