The owners of ProSanta Oy, who are also Santa Park’s new owners, have opened Santa’s summer house in the beautiful forest surroundings of Korpilampi, Espoo.
There, midst the magnificent sheltered nature Santa Claus spends his well earned free days by admiring the flora and fauna around the pond and enjoying one of his favourite activities: fishing.
The Managing Director Ilkka Länkinen says: “Santa Claus has his head office in Rovaniemi but he, as many of the Finnish people, decided to build his summer house in the Southern Finland to enjoy the nature and all its’ wonders.”
The metropolitan area has been graving for an interesting and fun programme with high quality that the customers can enjoy and participate in. There are almost 250 ships arriving to Helsinki Port and many cruise ship visitors would like to meet the real Santa Claus.
Unfortunately, due to the short time they spend in shore, most of them don’t have an opportunity to visit Lapland in order to meet the old man himself.
“We created a programme which combines the forest surroundings similar to Lapland, a chance to explore the nature whilst learning about Finnish traditions and a meeting with Santa Claus as a comprehensive experience in an authentic environment.” Länkinen continues.
To this he adds that it’s also important that the programme is well suited for both families and adult groups.
Now for the first time the visitors have a unique opportunity to explore Santa’s summer traditions and enjoy the versatile programme in an authentic environment. The beloved man himself waits at his haven, the summer house, which has its’ own peculiarities.
At his summer house Santa has also his very own smoke sauna, which is the cornerstone of the Finnish sauna culture. There, the joyful Sauna elf will guide the guests into the traditions and history of a smoke sauna and perhaps even tell them about nilikota, which can be spotted in the yard of the summer house.
During the visit the guests can also purchase beautiful souvenirs from the Elf Shop whilst savouring the delicious coffee with sweet baked roll.
According to Länkinen the first customers visited Santa’s summer house last week and the reception was fantastic. In addition, the customers wanted to come back to Finland and also to Lapland to explore its’ wonders.
Santa’s summer house is open for groups by reservation until the end of September.
