Parthen the meeting services company wants to operate as sustainable as possible. Therefore the company reduces and compensates allĀ its CO2 emissions.
Parthen set up a partnership with Climate Neutral Group (CNG), which manages the process of reducing and compensating the CO2 emissions. CNG analyzes the emissions, supports with reducing them and takes care of the compensation.
"It's very important to us to be a responsible and sustainable company", says Roel Frissen, Managing Director of Parthen. "We deliberately choose to be climate neutral in our operations, without losing sight of the commercial aspect of business."
Parthen is a service company for organizers of fairs, events and congresses. The greatest amount of CO2 emissions is caused by traveling, analyses CNG. Employees use the car and plane intensively.
The total emission of 2008 combined to 149.55 tons of CO2. All the options to reduce this number are taken, the inevitable emission is compensated. To compensate for the CO2 emissions, Parthen invest through CNG in a windmill park in Taiwan (Gold Standard project).
To compensate the emissions of Parthen and make the company climate neutral, a wind turbine had to be operational for sixty hours.
Parthen looks beyond her own company when it comes to sustainability. Every customer has the option to make all necessary operations climate neutral. For instance, the CO2 emissions that are caused by the transport of badges can be compensated.
If customers choose this option, Parthen pays 50% of the costs of creating a climate neutral transport, customers the other half. CNG will analyze the total amount CO2 emissions and take care of the compensation.
