The 140th Annual Meeting of the International Trademark Association in 2018 will take place in Vienna, May 5–9 at the Austria Center Vienna.
The official tender to host the 2018 Annual Meeting was issued in January 2006.
The Vienna Convention Bureau presented the Vienna Bid - revisions of the tender were needed - and handled the site inspection in July 2008.
INTA made their final decision in December 2008 to choose Vienna for 2018.
“Vienna is more than happy to have been selected for the 2018 Annual Meeting destination, more than 9,000 delegates are expected to attend. The impact on Vienna and Austria will be roughly, 25,000 overnights and a contribution to the Austrian GDP of approx. € Mio 12.-.” comments Christian Mutschlechner, Director of the Vienna Convention Bureau.
“The professional support we received from our Marketing Company in New York, Marketing Challenges International, as well as the perfect preparation of our bid and the handling of the site inspection by our Marketing Manager for the United States, May Sollinger-Soucek, was instrumental in helping to convince INTA to choose Vienna.
INTA´s Annual Meeting is the largest gathering of intellectual property professionals and
practitioners in the world, and it routinely attracts more than 9,000 attendees from across the
globe. During the five day meeting, participants discuss the latest issues and policies in the field and have numerous opportunities to continue their education, network with colleagues and meet with new and current clients.
“We are very excited to have secured Vienna as the location for our Annual Meeting in 2018. The Austria Center provides an excellent and hospitable space for our Association to welcome thousands of attendees from every part of the world, and we know that they will be pleased to be in the wonderful and beautiful city of Vienna,” said INTA Executive Director, Alan C. Drewsen.
