Industry 'Heavyweights' to judge EIBTM's WorldWide Technology Watch 2009

eibtmEIBTM’s continued commitment to focus on new technology solutions for the meetings industry is underlined by a call for entries to the event’s WorldWide Technology Watch (WWTW) 2009 competition.

The competition is aimed at discovering the latest technological innovations that will have a positive impact on meetings, events, incentive travel, conferences and exhibitions.

The closing date for entries is Friday, 4th September 2009.

The winner will receive a free stand at the MPI Technology Village @ EIBTM 2009 and the opportunity to present their product at the leading international meetings event in Barcelona, 1-3 December 2009.

The event has brought together a ‘heavyweight’ panel of judges, headed by Chairman Corbin Ball, CMP, Corbin Ball Associates.

He is joined and supported by Martin Sirk, CEO, ICCA; Bruce MacMillan, President/CEO, Meeting Professional International; Paul Hussey, Managing Director, Olive 360; Laurent Haug, LIFT Conference; and Vanessa Cotton, Principal, Cotton Associates.

Chairman Corbin Ball, CMP, Corbin Ball Associates says: “Meetings technology is progressing at a rapid rate and is an increasingly vital tool for the meeting planner. The EIBTM WorldWide Technology Watch has, over recent years, brought to the industry’s attention some of the most exciting new and innovative technological developments.”

The judges will consider the entries on three criteria – innovation, completeness of product and value to users at events.

Mandy Torrens, EIBTM’s Event Director says: “WorldWide Technology Watch is an established and integral part of EIBTM as it nurtures innovative technology products which will enhance the future of the industry. We would encourage any company offering a new technological solution to the meetings industry to enter the competition."

"Past winners, such as Spotme and last year’s winner MeetingMetrics, have significantly benefited from receiving industry recognition and gaining media attention and exposure for their product.”

The closing date for entries is Friday, 4th September 2009. Judging will take place on Wednesday, 7th October 2009 and the winner will be informed shortly after that date, giving them time to plan their attendance and stand at EIBTM.
