Historic Conference Centres of Europe elects New President and Board of Directors

HCCEThe 13th Annual General Assembly of the Historic Conference Centres of Europe (HCCE) was held last 8-10 May 2009 in Interlaken, Switzerland.

The principal item on the meeting's agenda was the election of a new President and Board of Directors by the current 26 HCCE members for the upcoming two years.

The new Board consists now of 9 members having been enlarged by four additional seats.

Mr. Michael Sharp, Managing Director of Central Hall Westminster in London, was elected as new President of the Board.

"It is a pleasure to be here today in Interlaken and I am most honored to have been appointed as the new President of HCCE. I would like to take this opportunity to thank our 26 member representatives for their full support and cooperation" the newly chosen President stated.

"It is our declared aim to pursue further development of the association. In order to achieve our goals, we need a long-term commitment on the part of our members."

The event was also marked by an honorary mention dedicated by Mr. Sharp to former President Mr. Straub: "HCCE accomplishments obviously reflect the involvement of all the members but also, and most importantly, the hard work and outstanding management of Mr. Straub from whom I proudly take over. I am committed to continue his work in the coming years."
