Great exhibitions at the Royal Horticultural Halls

California-Wines-at-RHHLast month, The Royal Horticultural Halls and Conference Centre (RHH) reported a marked increase in new business, and it shows no signs of slowing down.

Amongst the influx of new clients is The Great Exhibition - a new international event in the spirit of the 1851 Great Exhibition.

Showcasing the best in creativity and ingenuity from around the world, this exciting three day show will be held in the Lawrence Hall at the end of September to bring together entrepreneurs, investors and support services.

Exhibitors include both lone inventors and inventor groups, intellectual property support organisations, government agencies, universities and creative arts representatives, bringing together the brightest and the best from within the UK and around the globe.

Alongside the exhibition will be a comprehensive seminar programme and a prestigious awards event.

Maugie Lyons, head of commercial operations at the RHH, says: "This show represents so much of what the Halls are about - history, creativity and innovation. The Halls are synonymous with exhibitions and launching new shows is our forte - so having the spirit of the world's first truly international exhibition come to the RHH is brilliant."

Another new show at the Halls is the Formula One in Schools technology challenge - the only global educational programme that raises awareness of Formula One among students and school children.

The challenge, now in its ninth year, has previously taken place in Malaysia and Australia and is returning to its founding country for the 2009 World Championships.

The RHH will host over 30 teams from around the world all competing to win the Bernie Ecclestone World Championship trophy and a scholarship at City University London.

The winners will be announced at an exclusive awards celebration to be held in front of a star studded motorsport audience.

Nicholas Wines is also a new event, which will be joining many well-known wine events at the Halls this autumn, including Virgin Wines, Wines of Chile and Wines of California.

John Kemp organises the Sunday Times Wine Club, which has been held at the Halls for over 25 years.

He says: "The size of the Halls is just perfect for the number of visitors we get, but what really sets these halls apart is the height of the ceilings, which allows the alcohol fumes to rise up and out of the way and provides a pleasant atmosphere."
