UK Events Industry association Eventia announced it is the first events association to launch The Green Globe Index (GGI) to its members.
The Index is a global solution to sustainability indexing and disclosure in the travel and tourism industry.
The Carbon Consultancy, with which Eventia has a long-standing partnership, supports the GGI with technical and sustainability expertise.
The GGI is based upon company submissions, using an on-line questionnaire and data entry process to deliver a ranking and peer-group comparison by business type both nationally and globally. Users who achieve a minimum level of attainment are placed on a public index for consumer and corporate buyers to identify sustainable suppliers.

A number of members from the CSR working party acted as a focus group for the Index and I am delighted Eventia is the first events association to partner with this globally recognised sustainability index.”
Suitable for all member types, from venues to event agencies, the GGI provides a common platform to measure, index and demonstrate sustainability. It is designed to support and catalyse a more sustainable industry by providing a simple and low cost process for all users irrespective of their size and current levels of engagement. Participants can update their data throughout the year, improving their rating and enabling them to benchmark progress.

Eventia has negotiated a reduced rate of $75 (from $85) for all members joining the Index before 30th September 2009 and $60 for additional licences, up to an additional seven licences, to be used for other office or hotel locations or your supply chain.
