Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) is sending a specialist government business team to IMEX to capitalise on a sector of the meetings market in Europe that is relatively robust in the current economic slowdown.
Located in the centre of Edinburgh, EICC is within walking distance of The Scottish Parliament that celebrates the10th anniversary of receiving full legislative powers on 1 July 2009.
Commenting on EICC’s government business credentials Head of Sales and Business Development, Charlene Kane said:
“We host a major governmental or transnational institution meeting on average every two years at EICC and are widely experienced in meeting the special needs of policymaker delegates and of providing large scale secretariat facilities.
“We operate in the same city as an established national government which means we are well rehearsed in high security event hosting and facilitating the legacy and low carbon goals of government meetings”, added Kane.
EICC will host the NATO Parliamentary Assembly in Edinburgh later this year that will deliver an estimated economic impact of £1.3m for the city. EICC previously hosted this meeting in 1998.
