Jacquie Rogers, General Manager of the BT Convention Centre, part of ACC Liverpool, is to host the first TweetUp for the North West's event industry community.
Following the lead from the capital's successful TweetUps, where event industry professionals get together, the first event outside London will be held in November.
'TweetUpNorth' will be a focus for the North West's events professionals to network and share best practices on how to maximise the potential of the micro-blogging website.
Jacquie Rogers said: "We are really excited to be hosting the first 'TweetUpNorth' and to see how social media can benefit the events sector."
"Social networking can be perceived as taking away face to face interaction, but we are beginning to see new communities being created as TweetUps are organised across the country - where people who Tweet meet!"
"Our name clearly stakes our claim as being one of the most technologically advanced venues in Europe and we are looking forward to bringing together the North West's event professionals."
'TweetUpNorth' will take place in November. To register interest, follow the BT Convention Centre on Twitter (http://twitter.com/ACCLiverpool).
