The premises of the Friedrichshafen engine specialist MTU in Manzell at Lake Constance were the venue of a very special staff celebration.
The occasion was the 100th anniversary of MTU. Invitations had been sent out to the entire MTU family and around 16,000 people accepted.
The diverse program offered something for everybody all day long - climbing in a high wire course, performers on stilts as entertaining and eye-catching element, children competitions or sailing with the staff yacht "Tognum".
And like any other big family, MTU was proud to present its own successful technology in a so-called technology park where nearly all products and applications of the Tognum concern were on display - ranging from engines to diesel locomotives, a tank, the ferry Tabor, a skidder, huge dump trucks and much more.
However, the highlight of the staff celebration was the performance by Nena, the icon of the Neue Deutsche Welle, the New German Wave of the 1980s.
Nena gave a spectacular performance, singing hits from her nearly 30 years in the music business and thus offering a show for different generations. At the end of her show she performed her most popular song, "99 Luftballons", together with ca. 100 children.
The Stuttgart office of VOK DAMS, one of the international leading agencies for events and live-marketing, was in charge of the concept and realization of this superlative event. The agency had already proved its live-marketing expertise during the international brand launch of MTU Onsite Energy.
The event specialists and the large organization team of MTU were particularly pleased with the numerous and, in parts, very personal positive feedback by the guests. For example, Christof von Branconi, board member of Onsite Energy & Components, said: "Congratulations to you and your team. It was a grandiose celebration!"
