Visit London will be putting the ‘Cool’ into International Confex 2011 with the launch of its fourth edition of the always popular ‘Capital of Cool’ Guide, produced in association with Event Magazine.
The ‘Capital of Cool’ guide features over fifty of London’s latest venues and spaces which range from urban warehouses and secret pop-up locations to dramatic new retail spaces and private members clubs.
As well as the new guide, Visit London will also join forces with some of London’s leading business venues, hotels and sports stadia that will all be showcased on Visit London’s stand LA100. (International Confex runs from the 1st – 3rd March 2011 at London’s Earls Court.)
This year the stand showcases outstanding business venues including Mint Leaf, BMA House, Chelsea Football Club, Emirates, Barbican, Royal College of Physicians and The Mermaid Conference & Events Centre.
A new hotel to join Visit London’s stand in 2011 includes the multimillion pound renovated Ermin’s Hotel – which is set to open in April 2011.
As well as a whole host of stand activities Visit London will also be organising the industry’s biggest networking event ‘Meet the Market’ which Visit London will be hosting in association with Confex and the International Society of Special Events (ISES) and is sure to be a night to remember.
Visit London’s Associations team will also be engaging with all major congress organisers on the Confex association’s day and will launch their new directory which will be free to collect from the Visit London stand.
2011 set to be one of the busiest years for major sporting events for over a decade taking place in London.
Many of the events happening in 2011 will take place in future Olympic venues, including the World Badminton Championships in Wembley Arena (8-14th August) and the ITU World Triathlon London (6-7th August) which will take place in and around Hyde Park.
As well as the popular repeat sporting events such as the NFL, ATP Tennis, the London Marathon and The Boat Race (Oxford vs. Cambridge), London will also play host to a number of unique events in 2011.
One particular coup for London is hosting the first ever NBA Season Games to take place outside of North America. The games will take place in the O2 Arena on the 4th and 5th March and will see New Jersey Nets battle it out against the Toronto Raptors.
In celebration of the all the wonderful sporting events coming in to London, Visit London will be hosting some of the best sporting venues on their Confex stand LA100 and will be offering live competitions with their sporting Wii events – where a number of prizes will be on offer.
