The worldwide readership of the British industry magazine “Meeting & Incentive Travel” (M&IT) has singled out the Vienna Tourist Board’s Vienna Convention Bureau for its Silver Award.
The award gives Vienna the world’s second best convention bureau outside the United Kingdom in 2011.
Readers of the UK-based travel magazine “M&IT” all over the world are potential customers for congress destinations. Congress organizers such as international associations and the decision-makers in major companies also read the magazine, as do business agencies.
Every year they vote on the quality of convention offices around the world, and in 2011 the Vienna Tourist Board’s Vienna Convention Bureau took second place behind Monaco and ahead of Hong Kong.
“This now completes our collection of medals,” said Christian Mutschlechner, director of the “silvered” Vienna Convention Bureau commenting on the award.
“We received Gold in 2008 and Bronze in 2010. This significant ‘set’ of awards demonstrates the tremendous achieve-ment of the entire Vienna convention industry, as the Vienna Convention Bureau can maintain its high standards only in cooperation with the industry."
"Our latest award has been noted ac-cordingly throughout the international congress business, and is an excellent recommendation for Vienna as a congress destination.”
In keeping with the tradition, the awards were presented by prominent clients of the conference industry at a gala evening in London in the presence and under the patronage of Princess Anne.
