The Chiba Convention Bureau, Tokyo Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Yokohama CVB have collaborated with the national government’s Visit Japan Campaign (VJC) to produce Chinese and Korean versions of their “Tokyo Bay Area MICE Guide” brochure, which was first published in English last November.
The 8-page, full-color guide briefly introduces major MICE facilities around the Tokyo Bay Area, highlighting the area’s convenient accessibility via two international airports, Narita and Haneda, as well as some of its more prominent sightseeing attractions.
In producing the new multi-lingual releases, the three regions (Chiba, Tokyo, and Yokohama) hope to attract a portion of the rapidly expanding Chinese and Korean incentive travel market and are combining their efforts to enact promotion campaigns and establish greater branding as an area (i.e. the “Tokyo Bay Area”).
The guide is to be used as part of a package to proactively promote the area at tourism and MICE exhibitions in China and Korea, such as CIBTM, the “China Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition” from 8/31-9/2.
The Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) will also distribute the guides at their own marketing initiatives in China and Korea
The effort is projected to combine with advertisements in relevant trade and business magazines in a synergistic effect that brings even more exposure to an already high-profile area.
