The Tallinn City Tourist Office & Convention Bureau is marking the 10th anniversary of its convention division this month, calling its first decade of operation an unmitigated success.
Since starting up its activities in the business and incentive tourism sector on January 1, 2000, the Convention Bureau has boosted the number of partners it works with from 30 in the first year to a stunning 99 in 2010.
Tallinn has also seen huge rises in ICCA rankings, which track the number of International Conference and Convention Association events held in each city.
In 2008 Tallinn was ranked 65th, up from 83rd the year previously and expects to continue rising in ranking in the coming years.
As Tallinn's events sector continues its rapid growth, the Tallinn Convention Bureau sees their supportive role becoming even more important in the future.
Tallinn is eagerly looking forward to the opening of a new, multifunctional conference centre in the Tallinn Linnahall which, when completed, will have as many as 4,600 seats in its main auditorium as well as more than 23 seminar rooms.
