Hosted by Rotterdam Marketing and The Hague Convention Bureau, 22 high profile buyers have recently returned from a fam trip to experience both cities as event destinations.
Buyers included representatives from all sides of the industry: agency companies such as American Express, BSI, Events & Venues, HRG and many others, as well as corporates JP Morgan and Nomura.
Conference and exhibition organisers included amongst others Elsevier, Incisive Media, WBR, and CRU Events, plus the association organiser from the Society of Experimental Biology.
During the event, hosted buyers were given the chance to not only see each city’s main hotels and event venues, but to also get a feel and sense of the unique atmosphere of Rotterdam & The Hague.
Delegates were also treated to a variety of transport, from electric tuk-tuks and water taxis in Rotterdam, to a horse drawn carriage in the royal city of The Hague.
Buyers also got hands-on experience of the unique Sand Academy sand sculpting workshops, which took place at the NH Atlantic hotel in one of The Hague’s two beach resorts.
Feedback from buyers following the trip has been extremely positive and encouraging. For example Abi Sherratt of BSI commented: “Overall it was an excellent trip, and one that perfectly showcased Rotterdam and The Hague“.
Graham Anderson of Anderson Media said “I will certainly be adding both Rotterdam and the Hague to my list of possible locations”.
And American Express’s Michael Paur added “I thought there were excellent potential venues with loads of different options for meeting/events”.
The Hague Convention Bureau and Rotterdam Marketing believe their cities are uniquely positioned to give organisers somewhere new, different and refreshing for their delegates to explore and discover, but without having to compromise on a hub airport or transfer time.
Both cities can be quickly reached from Amsterdam Schiphol, and Rotterdam/The Hague boasts its own regional airport too.
