It is already a tradition that the Maastricht Convention Bureau, together with partners, is a striking participant of the European Meetings Industry Fair (EMIF) in Brussels.
The fact that the Maastricht Convention Bureau now is strengthening their cooperation by working together with the convention bureaus of Rotterdam and The Hague, promises to become a whole new tradition.
EMIF, which was held on March 15th and 16th, is the Belgian trade show for Incentive Travel, Meetings and Events, and is being visited by mainly Belgian meeting planners.
For many years now, the Maastricht Convention Bureau is present at the fair to promote Maastricht & region as a destination for any kind of business meeting.
Maastricht has become a striking EMIF exhibitor, and has proven to be able to attract and keep the attention of both EMIF organisers and visitors.
Tamara Piatkiewitz-Weide, Sales Manager Meetings & Incentives of the Maastricht Convention Bureau: “For many years now, EMIF has been a successful trade show for us, so again we were present very prominently."
"Visitors found us quite easily; after sending an announcement, we got many requests for appointments during the fair. In total, we spoke with over 150 interested planners."
This year, to make their participation even more successful, the Maastricht Convention Bureau not only cooperated with their Maastricht booth partners (Beaumont, Eden Designhotel Maastricht, FLO Maastricht, Hostellerie La Butte aux Bois, NH Maastricht and Maastricht Group Events), but also with the convention bureaus of Rotterdam and The Hague.
Together with Karin de Graauw, a specialist in the Belgian MICE market, they organised an exclusive clients dinner, which was attended by no fewer than 46 Belgian planners of event agencies and corporates. For the Belgian guests the way to get to know these three Dutch cities, all of which are truly unique.
Tamara continues: “We were able to make many of our southern neighbours enthusiastic about Maastricht & region as a destination for their business meetings. It is expected the number of meetings will increase.”
