Dublin Tourism hosted an event for top meetings and events bookers in London last Thursday 30th June.
The event, held on board the Silver Sturgeon on the River Thames, showcased Dublin as a world class business tourism destination, connecting Ireland’s capital’s hoteliers, venues and conference organizers with UK meetings and events buyers.
35 trade representatives represented Dublin’s tourism industry alongside officials from Dublin Tourism and Tourism Ireland.
More than 90 London based meetings and events buyers attended the event. Buyers were invited to network with Dublin’s tourism trade at a workshop followed by an evening of Irish food and entertainment.
Speaking at the event, Paul Hayden, Acting CEO of Dublin Tourism said: “The objective of the ‘Meet Dublin in London’ event is to give important meetings and events buyers a real flavour of the warmth and professionalism of Dublin’s hoteliers, venue providers and destination management companies in order to drive more business tourism to Dublin”.
The Dublin Convention Bureau, the business tourism unit of Dublin Tourism has seen a 20% rise in business tourism enquiries for Dublin year to date and is on track to generate a targeted €50 million in economic impact for Dublin through business tourism.
